Wishing You All the Best

Are you having a great weekend so far?  I spent some time in my craft room Friday after work to cook this baby up for CR84FN.  Do you ever hit a road block and nothing wants to work out for you?  Well, that is what happened to me.  I had something else completely different in mind and it just didn't work.  So I walked away and put all my supplies up.  Then I decided to give it another try.  That was the trick because as soon as I saw Cupa's sketch for last Saturday I had to use it.

I wanted something elegant and multi purpose.  I think this can be used for a Birthday, Wedding, or Anniversary...you just finish the rest of the sentiment inside with your choice.

I used a couple different PTI sets for this card.  One was Mat Stack 2 and the other was Sweet Peas

Hey There

I finally got a little crafty time today.  I have been working my butt off this week.  I found some new Authentique, Free Bird, Blush and Delight paper at my local Archiver's and couldn't wait to get busy craftin'.

I think I will pretty up the inside and put the sentiment in there before I send it off.  I like to have some on hand without sentiments.  May times I have gone to send a card and not had one for the right occasion made.

I used the newest sketch at CPS.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI White, Kraft, Rustic Cream
Patterned Paper: Authentique/ Free Bird
Stamps: PTI/Autumn Abundance
Twine: Doodlebug/Cupcake
Copics: YG03, YG93, G21, Y21, YR23, YR24, R83, R85, RV34, BG09,BG15, N0, 0
Spellbinders: Tear Drop Circles

Timeless Tuesday 141

Are you having a great week so far?  I have been working a bit more than normal and have found it harder to have time to stamp.  I am not liking this at all.  I am wiped out by the time I get home and it seems to be getting darker earlier and earlier each day.
This week at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Maki is challenging us to make a card using trees or leaves NO FLOWERS.  Use a tree/leave image(s)/element(s) for your card/project. Try not to use flowers as your focal point for the challenge.

I pulled out an older set called Forest of Trees.  I used my Spellbinders Lables 18 dies and stamped the image in Peeled Paint, and sponged inside with Tim Holtz Distress inks in Antique Linen and Tea Dye.  I also added a little glitter to the trees.  You can get a better idea on the close up.

Other Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI Smokay Shadow, Kraft
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye
Seam Binding, Button, and machine stitching

CR84FN 41

Let me start by saying, wow!  I can't believe all the beautiful entries from the last color challenge at CR84FN.  So many different kinds of styles.  I love them all!  So this week is a new color combo.  We have blue, grey, and yellow.

I used a couple PTI sets and a pretty MFT border die.  I actually am entering this into the Make It Monday at PTI.  I have not participated yet and I did not set out to enter but it just worked out that way.  I used the Button Card die along with the Seed Packet die  from Garden Variety to create some layers.  I stamped the Mum from Year Of Flowers on the button card die cut and layered the seed packet die on top.

Thank You

Have you ever cyber stamped with a friend before?  I did for the first time today.  My sweet friend Beate told me about a color challenge at SCS.  The colors are Yellow, Green, and Brown.  So we rushed to see how fast we could finish.  This is the second Hope You Can Cling To challenge I have done.  This is the link HERE for the main list of challenges and HERE is the link to this specific challenge.

I used one of my favorite Flourishes stamp sets called With Gratitude.  It is a special set you can find out how to receive it on the Flourishes blog.  I know they are Purple Cone Flowers, but I think they look an awful  lot like Black Eyed Susans too.

Cardstock: PTI Rustic Cream, White, Kraft
Patterned Paper: MME Sunshine and Breeze
Stamps: Flourishes Flip set/ With Gratitude
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Ribbon: Offray/ Mud Pie
Copics: YG93, YG95, YG97, Y21, Yr23, YR24, E33, E37

Timeless Tuesday #140 / You Give Me A Warm Glow

Hello.  Are you having a great week so far?  It has turned a good bit cooler here in the last few days...I think it might be cool enough for snow if the conditions are right.  Not ready to think of that quite yet.  I am here to share with you a card I made for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge.  Silke is challenging us to a Halloween themed card or project.

I used the pumpkin from Witching You a Happy Halloween.  I loved this set when it came out last year.  Such adorable Halloween images.  I wanted to use them all.  I cut the pumpkin out on Spellbinders Classic Circles LG and then mated it on the Scrap Mart exclusive SB die using pop dots.

I am up late making cards and wanted to share one I made for a Splitcoaststampers challenge that they are having for the month of October.  Hope You Can Cling To is actually many different challenges, but the one I chose is by fellow Flourishes DT member Tammy.  She chose for us to Make a card that incorporates pink and ribbon, with a friendship theme!  DONE!

I waited very patiently for my new MFT stamps to arrive and inside that envelope was a set called Girl Chooses Hope.   I will be sending this one off to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.  Such a great cause and they get to give someone special to them a handmade card.  You can read more about it HERE.

A Season of Celebrations

Flourishes is having another Noon Time Challenge.  Last release, we challenged players to come up with a fun and unique twist on a challenge, suggest it and they could win a chance to be in the Flourishes spotlight – not only would their challenge be picked, they would be the superstar of the day ushering the challenge as well! Our second challenge hostess this noon is the talented Linda Carson! We loved her challenge to tap Flourishes Tutorial Library and try a new technique on for size!

So I actually tired using two techniques.  One which I often use....Sponging, and the other was to put this adorable Silhouette image in a window.  Well, lets just say that turned into a HUGE mess!  I was not happy at all.  I was able to salvage the whole card and just skipped the window part.  Luckily I was able to cover the hole with a larger piece of card stock and placed a piece of card stock on the back so nobody would ever know...except me.  ;)  I found out the hard way that the Lacey Squares Spellbinders dies DO NOT nest with the Classic Squares....there was a big difference in size.  I guess I should have checked into that before I started cutting everything.  Lesson learned!!

How to Play: Simply scroll through Flourishes Tutorial Library HERE.  Once you find a technique or project that you’d like to give a try, have some creative fun and make it! After you’re done, be sure to share a link to the post on our tutorial library, so we can all see what inspired you! Be sure to link up to this post using our inlinkz widget. You need to do that in order to be in the running. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCORW2. You have until Friday, October 14th at  5PM EST to enter! Let’s get that name game started and get creative!

Be sure to link back to the Flourishes post for all the official rules. We have a few that will be too many to name. i.e. use Flourishes stamps and you get counted twice, no combining challenges. Etc.!

Swimming For Kaite

I have something very important to share with you all.  I jumped at the chance to participate in this blog hop.  This is something that just brought me to tears the moment I read her story.  I remember seeing the original post when Katie found out Last December.  Then just recently it was brought to my attention again.
Here are the details:

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer.  If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year.  This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight.  A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer.  Her first post about it is HERE.  The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post HERE.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file.  100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family.  Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support.  In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale.  Direct donations are also being accepted.  Information central is HERE.  This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

****My internet is currently out.  I guess the Mediacom guy gave us a defective piece of equipment and I will have to wait until Wednesday to have service again.  I am at Panera just down the street typing this up.  I will check back from time to time to see if everything is going okay.  Please bear with me.

I hope you will join me in supporting Katie through a purchase or donation.  The following is a list of everyone who has projects posted today.  I hope you will be inspired by them and moved to purchase or donate.  If you would like to send Katie a card, her mailing address is:

Best Witches

Oh, I have gone and done it again!  I caved in a bought some MFT stamps and dies.  I have seen several of my blog friends use them over the past year and when one of them sent me a border die I was hooked.  I had my eye on this darling Little Witch last release.  She was gone before I could snatch her up....needless to say I didn't wait this time around.

I also used the new Die namics Oval Tab for the sentiment and the Postage Stamp Edge die and the larger of the two Faux Crochet Doily Duo.

Here is the link to the sketch that I played along with.

Happy Harvest

Well, it is time for another amazing color challenge at CR84FN.  This week we have a color combo that works well for fall or Christmas.  I chose to be inspired by the fall theme and yummy caramel apple.   I just love the Vintage Picnic set from PTI.   Make sure you look closely at the right...there is a link for a cute sentiment set that you can't find anywhere else on the site, and of course I used the matching die.  ;)

Here I am looking at this realizing that I didn't add the adorable little cloth that hangs outside of the basket.  Oh well!  I hate it when I do that.  I think it looks naked.

Mona's hubby Scott is a huge Apple fan and used this amazing quote from Steve Jobs for this weeks color challenge.  I have to say that I have only used my mom's Mac laptop and when she passed away this summer she wanted my son to have it.  He is loving having his own laptop and seems to be able to use it very easily.

Supplies:
Cradstock: PTI/ Rustic Cream, White, and Kraft
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye
Ink: Memento/Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Dies: Spellbinders/ Eyelet Circles, MFT Crochet Border die, Lil Inker Banner die and stamp
Copics
Ribbon

Sending You Smiles

Wow!  This has been quite the month for me.  Between the move and seeing all my wonderful friends again I don't know what to do with myself.  I did however find some time to play along with Chupa's sketch challenge at  Sketchbook Saturday.    She always has some awesome sketches.

I ordered this PTI Simple Sunflower set about a month ago and finally inked it up.  Someone has been making me feel guilty about my neglected stamps.  ;)  I actually didn't start this card off to go with this sketch, I knew I was using the Sunflower and Mat Stack 4 image, and the rest just fit together with the sketch.  A match made in crafty heaven.  Don't ya think.  I like the bit of pale blue to lighten the darkness in the rest of the MME Sunshine papers.  I used a My Favorite Things Crochet border die and Tim Holtz distress ink in Wild Honey and Walnut Stain.  Cardstock is PTI Rustic Cream, White, and Smokey Shadow.

I have missed you all so much.  I am finally starting to get around to visiting blogs again.  I always appreciate you stopping by to see me.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 138

I am back again to share my first card made in my new craft room.  hehe.  This week is my week to host at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  I knew I wanted to find a pretty fall photo that incorporated all the colors of fall.  Unfortunately time was not on my side because of the move, and the sweet Tammy found one for me.  She came to my rescue!

I don't think my card is straight in the photo, but that was the best I could do.  I had to set my light tent and lights up on my make up table.  I still have a lot to unpack and get organized.  There are more room in some places and less in others....I have to figure out how to make it work.

I used the new fall set called Season of Thanks.  I think the image reflects the inspiration photo to the "T".  I also used a combination of MME papers and Offray satin ribbon for my bow.

I am always running out of room for my sentiment so I added it inside.  I like the more finished look it gives the inside of the card.  Besides, Flourishes has THE BEST selection of sentiments to go along with their sets and they range from a simple word or two to a nice sentiment for the inside.  I love that!
